I've always had a love for growing plants. I watched my grandpa grow beautiful rose gardens and harvest great summer bounties every year from his vegetable garden. In college, I rediscovered a love for plants. In 2004, I was offered the opportunity to grow herb plants for retail sale at a local health food store here in Columbia, SC. In anticipation of my new business, I looked to our local technical college for knowledge on all things flora. I took every class they offered, from plant biology to propagation to nursery production and even landscape design. I learned everything I could from both teachers and students.
That first year of growing was a great experience. I watched each seed emerge from the soil with a unique form. I quickly learned to distinguish each herb by that form. After that first year, I was hooked! Erin's Urban Herbs grew and sold herbs for the 2004-2007 spring seasons. Since 2007, I took time off to get married and have a baby. In 2011, as a family, we made the decision to revive Erin's Urban Herbs.
